Small businesses deserve big data thinking
Most small businesses are drowning in information — spreadsheets, emails, invoices, years of institutional knowledge sitting in people's heads. The answers are in there somewhere. They just can't get to them.
Businesses that can afford a full-time data hire figure it out eventually. The ones that can't often keep flying blind, making decisions on gut feel and hoping for the best. Current exists to close that gap. Not with an enterprise software stack or a six-figure implementation, but with a fractional partner who shows up, learns your business, and builds the specific tools you actually need.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Allison. I've spent nearly a decade doing analytics work at a global information company — building customer segmentation models, running experiments across product lines, and leading executive-level reporting for international markets. Along the way I got a Master's in Advanced Analytics from NC State and prior to that spent some time teaching middle school students math.
But my roots are in a family-owned lumber and reel manufacturing business. That's where I first saw how much a well-run small business runs on knowledge that never quite makes it into a system and how much difference the right tool, in the right hands, could make.
Current is what happens when those two worlds meet: enterprise-level thinking, built for businesses that don't have — and don't need — an enterprise-level team.
When I'm not working, you'll find me at the beach with my two kids, painting, or trying (still) to master the art of surviving a Hawaii summer without air conditioning.
Based in Kailua, Hawaii. Serving clients across the U.S.
How we work
Every engagement starts the same way — with listening. Before we touch a spreadsheet or build a dashboard, we spend time understanding how decisions actually get made at your company, where information lives, and what your team is quietly working around.
From there, we do the unglamorous but essential work: organizing your data, cleaning up the messes, and building the specific tools and views that make everyone's job easier. When the engagement ends, your team has systems they understand, know how to maintain, and can grow with. No black boxes, no dependencies on us, no bloated tech stacks left behind.
